Sahakar Maharshi Bhausaheb Santuji Thorat served as a freedom fighter in the freedom struggle. He struggled for the development of agriculture and industry in Sangamner taluka and for the farmers to get their right to water. He established Amrut Udyog Samuha and Sangamner Bhag Sahakari Sugar Factory and brought prosperity.
